Naples – They had sown panic between Melito, Giugliano and Villaricca last June, armed and with their faces covered, acting in rapid succession against supermarkets, pharmacies and post offices.

But the commando's escape is over: yesterday morning the Carabinieri of the Marano company arrested five young people, including a minor, on the orders of the investigating judge of the Court of Naples North and the Juvenile Court.
Those arrested are accused of various counts of aggravated robbery, receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of weapons, in a series of robberies carried out in less than a month.
The contested robberies:
8nd June: Micillo and Basile rob Eurospin on the Melito ring road, loot of 1.093 euros
15nd June: same couple robs the Eurospin in via Colonne in Melito, stealing 2.000 euros
22nd June: Salvati and Palma rob the Lidl in via Mugnano-Giugliano, stealing around 2.000 euros
22nd June: the same duo carries out a robbery at the De Felice pharmacy in via Madonna delle Grazie, loot 200 euros
29nd June: Palma and Salvati rob the post office on Corso Europa in Melito, threatening the director and her husband with a gun and fleeing with 7.339 euros.
The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri with the support of the victims' testimonies and images from video surveillance cameras, allowed them to trace the license plates of the vehicles used and the identity of the gang members.
Le investigations continue: the involvement of a further young accomplice who has not yet been identified is suspected.
Those arrested:
Gaetano Basile, 24 years old, from Giugliano
Thomas Micillo, 24 years old, from Giugliano
Pasquale Palma, 26 years old, from Villaricca
Augustine Salvati, 19 years old, from Giugliano
A minor, whose identity has not been disclosed
Three of them were already under house arrest. The four adults, assisted by lawyers Luigi Poziello and Michele Giametta, are now in prison awaiting preliminary hearing.
