In the heart of the Land of Fires, yet another environmental emergency resurfaces. In Giugliano in Campania, the Carabinieri Forestali of Pozzuoli together with the veterinarians of the ASL NA2 Nord discovered a manure expanse of over 10 thousand square meters, illegally disposed of by a buffalo farm operating in an agricultural area sensitive to nitrates.
During the raid, the military found 77 dairy buffaloes and a manure heap built without authorization, filled to the brim and without any collection system. Inside, about 400 cubic meters of livestock waste ready to pour into nearby land. But that's where the worst happened: a large agricultural area, not far from Lago Patria, had been transformed into a real open-air landfill, where sewage and manure flowed freely towards the lake basin, recognized as a site of community interest.
The Carabinieri have seized the entire agricultural land of 13.500 square meters, including the manure pile, where it is estimated that there are about 5.000 cubic meters of waste. The owner of the company, a 50-year-old man living in the Caserta area, has been reported for illegal waste management and illegal construction. The operation is part of the extraordinary checks ordered by the Forestry Group of Naples, determined to combat the abuse of the territory in an area that has been poisoned by illegality and indifference for too long.
