Ottaviano – On Sunday, the State Police arrested two eighteen-year-olds, residents of poggiomarino and Terzigno, charged with aggravated personal injury.
The youths are believed to be responsible for carrying out a raid, shooting with a pellet gun at some Bangladeshi citizens in Ottaviano.
The intervention of the agents of the San Giuseppe Vesuviano Police Station was triggered following the report of injured people in via Di Prisco. When they arrived on the scene, the police officers were approached by the owner of a business, a 46-year-old originally from Bangladesh, who said he had witnessed an attack shortly before.
According to his testimony, several bullets had been fired from a car carrying three individuals at one of his fellow countrymen who was near his shop.
While the officers were gathering initial information, three other people, also originally from Bangladesh, approached and reported that they had been victims of the same criminal conduct, hit by pellets fired from the same car.
The immediate investigations conducted by the police officers allowed them to quickly identify two of the three alleged perpetrators of the attack. Subsequently, at the home of one of the two eighteen-year-olds arrested, the pellet gun used to commit the violent acts was found and seized. The third accomplice is currently being identified by the investigators.
At the current stage of the investigation, no elements have emerged that could connect the episode to phenomena of political radicalism. The arrest of the two eighteen-year-olds represents a first step in shedding light on this disturbing episode of violence against foreign citizens residing in the territory.
