The Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, has ordered the suspension of the mayor Maurizio Falanga and the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Poggiomarino, Luigi Belcuore following the issuing of the precautionary measure of house arrest against them by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Naples.
At the same time, the prefect appointed Dr. Gabriella D'Orso, retired vice-prefect, as prefectural commissioner for the provisional management of the Authority. D'Orso was given the powers of the mayor and the municipal council.
