20-year-old Nello Longobardi returns to perform in his hometown, Ercolano, with the show “Che suonno” that will be performed on April 4 at the Don Orione theater. The young talent had already achieved success with the same show in December.
The repertoire of the performance includes famous songs by Neapolitan authors such as Eduardo De Crescenzo and Nino D'Angelo, as well as Italian and international classics such as “Il mondo” and “Volare” in the Dean Martin version. The show focuses on Longobardi's dream of emerging as a singer and entertainer, with the intervention of the female voice of Tonia Ascione who represents his conscience and urges him to keep his feet on the ground.
“This show, which represents me fully – highlights the author and interpreter Nello Longobardi – it's the perfect synthesis of this moment in my life."
Alongside Longobardi, a diverse band and a dance troupe enrich the performance. The musical direction is entrusted to maestro Antonio Oliviero, with choreography by Mariangela Poetini.
Collaborators also include Giuseppe Nobile and Giorgio Casolaro, ready to support Longobardi on this artistic journey. In addition to “Che suonno”, the young artist also has “Christmas in Naples” in his curriculum, which mixes classic Neapolitan songs and international hits. The finale of the show includes an unreleased song and a duet with Margherita Scognamiglio. Longobardi attributes part of his success to Margherita, stating: “It all started thanks to her – says Longobardi – he taught me to dream.”

I am happy for Nello Longobardi, but I wonder if the show will be as successful as it was in December. The songs chosen are interesting, but I hope that Tonia Ascione's voice will live up to expectations. It is important that local artists receive support.
