Sunday 6 April at 19 pm, at the Nostos Teatro in Aversa, “Rosaria – volume 1 of the project Esclusi – scenic anthology of discarded lives” will be performed, a work by Davide Iodice performed by Monica Palomby and Chiara Alborino. This production is the result of the Scuola Elementare del Teatro.
“Rosaria” represents the first chapter of a constantly evolving scenic anthology entitled “Esclusi”, which collects the dramaturgical research of young authors committed to analyzing reality and its social transformations. This 'scenic volume' is inspired by and dedicated to Rosaria, a homeless alcoholic, portrayed as the demon and the bad conscience of the Naples of the decumani: **“dead without mourning.”**
A Social Anthropology Project
The project “Esclusi” was born within the cycle “Officina della Scuola elementare del Teatro/conservatorio popolare per le arti della scena”, conceived and directed by Davide Iodice. It is configured as an intervention of social anthropology, even before being theatrical, coming from a scenic practice that aims at knowledge and testimony. The anthology aims to recompose and redeem the works of socially desecrated figures, representing marginal experiences that highlight the open wounds of an unequal society.
Director's notes and the story of a life
The director's notes highlight: **“At night, Naples broods over the past, thus resembling Rosaria. Missing for several years now, she lived on the streets, in the Tribunali area. She did not receive the dignity of a well-attended funeral. Her final resting place is unknown. This is the shared farewell that Rosaria never had.”** The project aims to restore voice and dignity to a neglected life, offering an investigation into the inner motives that characterized her. The work is based on collected material that includes memories of those who knew Rosaria at different stages of her life. Among the salient discoveries, the figure of a former abusive tour guide and her connection with Naples emerges: **“Rosaria, a companion in Underground Naples, a guide to an inner hell.”** Her youthful experiences, her escape from home and her life in the historic districts are reconstructed thanks to testimonies that reveal a complex and profoundly human woman, capable of offering smiles and sharing an acute vision of love and its deceptions.

The article about the Rosaria project is interesting but there are many things I don't understand well, like how such a difficult life can be represented in the theater. I think people should know more about these life stories. It's important.
