As part of the “Parliamo di musica” review, an unmissable meeting is announced that promises to strike a chord, not only musically, but also emotionally. “Modo minore: Enzo Moscato ai confini della canzone” will be the theme of the dialogue between Pasquale Scialò and Emanuela Grimaccia, during which the new CD Hotel de l'univers, recently published by Squilibri editore, will be presented.
Article Key Points
The event is part of the Canzone napoletana e dintorni review, organized by the Neapolis bookshop and the Napulitanata association, and will take place in collaboration between the Naples Conservatory and the Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania.
Enzo Moscato: a master of song
An internationally renowned playwright, Enzo Moscato has been able to intertwine song with his personal theatrical language, approaching it with the delicacy of an authentic chansonnier. For Moscato, song is revealed as an indispensable element of his artistic vision, an “impure” form that embraces different languages, from philosophy to cinema. The music of authors such as Nino Rota and Nicola Piovani will resonate like an echo of great films, evoking illustrious atmospheres linked to names such as Federico Fellini and Luigi Magni.
The journey through memories
Hotel de l'Univers, with musical direction by Pasquale Scialò, is not just a show, but a journey into the memories and emotions of the author, who grew up in the popular movie theaters of the 1950s and 1960s. The songs, rich in references and meanings, offer a deep emotional picture, tracing a path that winds through tributes to giants of cinema and music, from Charlie Chaplin to Wim Wenders, to the legendary Marilyn Monroe.
News and tributes
The new edition of the CD is enriched by introductory writings by Roberto Andò, Pasquale Scialò and Claudio Affinito, while the cover hosts a work by Mimmo Paladino. In addition, two songs re-interpreted by Enzo Gragnaniello will add a personal touch, celebrating a vital link with Neapolitan culture. The presence of the well-known artist at the Conservatory represents a further tribute to an artistic world that continues to inspire and blend tradition and innovation.

The meeting about Enzo Moscato's work seems very interesting and promises to bring out strong emotions. However, I wonder if everyone can understand his music so particular that sometimes it is a bit complicated to follow.
I'm not sure that this festival will be successful among the young audience, because Neapolitan music has a specific audience and I don't know if it can attract other generations.
