Naples – The running enthusiast group “5:30 Napoli Runner” has launched a fundraiser to support the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit Santobono in Naples.
The initiative was born as a sign of gratitude towards the healthcare workers who saved the life of little Paolo, a child who underwent two delicate surgical operations: the closure of a tracheoesophageal fistula and the anastomosis of the esophagus.
Thanks to the professionalism of the doctors and nurses, both operations were successful, allowing the little boy to receive the best care. To express gratitude and provide concrete support to the facility that saved his son, Paolo's father joined the group of runners in organizing the charity campaign.
Anyone wishing to contribute can make a donation via bank transfer to the Santobono Pausilipon Foundation, using the IBAN IT94B0711003400000000004148 (Banca di Credito Cooperativo) and entering “Paolo4SP” in the reason for payment to allocate the offering to the fundraiser.

It is truly a beautiful and useful initiative to help the little ones in the hospital, but I do not understand how the fundraising works and who can participate. Perhaps the methods of donation should be better explained.
