Patrick Vieira doesn't hide, but he doesn't give up either. On the eve of the away match at the Diego Armando Maradona against league leaders Napoli, the Genoa coach shows respect for his opponent but asserts his team's ambition: «When Napoli plays at home against Genoa there is no other option than victory – he said at the press conference – but we want to continue to grow, stick to our game plan and show our collective strength. We are ready to play, to learn and to bother them too."
Vieira knows well that the atmosphere will be electric and the margin for error reduced to zero, but he faces the challenge with the right spirit, aware that Genoa has little to lose and a lot to prove: "We will be in one of the hottest stadiums in Italy, against an opponent who plays to win the championship. It's a game from which I will also learn a lot, observing how my players will handle these moments."
On the infirmary front, the only positive news is the recovery of midfielder Onana, while for the other injured players we will have to wait a few more days. In the meantime, the message is clear: Genoa will go to the stadium Maradona without pressure, but with the intention of raising one's voice.
