Napoli - Morena, a 16-year-old from Pomigliano d'Arco who suffers from a rare and aggressive form of epilepsy, Rasmussen syndrome, with only three known cases in Europe, is in critical condition.
Hospitalized at Bambin Gesù in Rome, the young woman faces multiple daily convulsive crises that cause her serious cognitive and motor deficits. Hope comes from a clinic in Monterrey, Mexico, where a two-month experimental treatment could improve her quality of life.
The family, led by the determination of mother Feliciana, has launched a fundraiser to cover the costs of the treatment. An appeal was made to the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli of the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra, who responded with an invitation to solidarity.
“Morena deserves to have opportunities, wherever they are it is worth trying. Let's support life, let's give hope to this young girl who is already very tried and to her mother, a woman of great courage and determination. Let's all accompany Morena together, with a small contribution, towards a great goal”.
