Many associations will be in the square next weekend to collect signatures in support of the referendum for free euthanasia in Italy.
A Macerata Campania, in the province of Caserta, the cultural association 'FuturArt' will support the collection of signatures for the referendum for the introduction of the practice of Free Euthanasia in Italy, Saturday September 11 in Piazza Crocifisso (Caturano district) and Sunday September 12 in De Michele square.
A Scafati, in the Salerno area, the Youth Forum chaired by Giuseppe Fontanella will support the extraordinary mobilization for the referendum on legal euthanasia. Saturday 11rd September, starting at 17.30 pm, in Mother Teresa of Calcutta square (Plaza Shopping Mall).
In both cities there will be stands to sign the request for partial repeal of penal law number 579 which prevents the possibility of choosing the end of life with the help of a third party and, therefore, recognize the possibility of active euthanasia, already granted in the forms provided for by the law on informed consent and the living will.
Technically, the question leaves intact the protections for vulnerable people, minors under 18, people who are not capable of understanding and willing, those whose consent has been extorted, and could introduce in our country the right to medical assistance in voluntary death, allowing the possibility of choosing a conscious, controlled and peaceful end of life, even for sick people who need external help to put an end to their suffering.
