Naples wounded in the chest by a stray bullet: a 40-year-old is hospitalized at Vecchio Pellegrini.
It happened in the Spanish Quarters around 21:40 PM this evening. The injured man is a XNUMX-year-old Sri Lankan who was admitted to the old Pellegrini hospital in Naples, with a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.
The man, conscious and not in danger of life, reportedly told the medical staff that, shortly before, after leaving his home in the Montecalvario neighborhood to smoke a cigarette, he heard a loud noise: immediately after, he felt a burning sensation in his chest.
According to initial reconstructions, it would appear to be due to a stray bullet falling to the ground. Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri of the Naples Center company.
The Carabinieri, who are investigating the case, are checking whether there are video surveillance systems in the area from which to extract images. Despite the ban on shooting any fireworks, in many areas of the city, around 16 pm, people started celebrating New Year's Eve with firecrackers.
Even in recent years, the practice of firing gunshots into the air on New Year's Eve has resulted in deaths and injuries.
