There are 15 injured in Naples and the province due to the New Year's Eve firecrackers: nine in the city and 6 in the hinterland.
The most serious accident, however, occurred in the province of Naples where a 47-year-old man, originally from Carbonara di Nola, lost an eye. The injured man was first transported to the hospital in Sarno, in the Salerno area, and then to the one in Nocera Inferiore where he was admitted.
Only two people are hospitalized, however, and they are the Sri Lankan who was hit in the chest by a stray bullet before midnight in the Montesanto neighborhood, who is at the Pellegrini hospital in not serious conditions; and a 53-year-old woman, with serious injuries to her eyes from a firecracker, who is at the Cardarelli.
The other seven were treated and discharged for limb injuries at Cardarelli and Fatebenefratelli.
In the province, 5 people were injured, and none of them needed hospitalization. Two were treated at the hospital in Frattamaggiore, two at the hospital in Giugliano and one, the one who suffered the most serious injury, to a hand, at the hospital in Castellammare di Stabia.
In Naples and in several municipalities of its province, ordinances had been issued that prohibited the use of fireworks. But in practice no one respected them, or rather there were those who did not want to respect them anyway.
Fireworks and fireworks greeted the arrival of the new year in Naples, despite the ordinance banning them issued by Mayor Gaetano Manfredi. The same thing happened in several other centers in the province where similar measures had been issued.

The measure came into force at 16pm yesterday and will remain valid until midnight, but already yesterday afternoon, although with different intensity compared to the approach of the new year, strong explosions had begun to be heard in various neighborhoods of the city.
