On Friday 25th March the events in the presence of the De Felice Foundation at the Theater at Palazzo Donn'Anna. Special guest will be Professor Carlo Viggiani, Emeritus of Geotechnics at the University of Naples Federico II, who will present the conference Without even touching it. The stabilization of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, title of the essay published by the publishing house Hevelius (2019).
The event inaugurates a new cycle of conferences on themes dear to the mission of the Foundation such as the conservation of cultural heritage, museology, restoration and architecture.
The meeting will open with greetings from Marina Colonna, President of the Ezio De Felice Foundation and Leonardo Di Mauro, President of the Order of Architects PPC of Naples and Province.
The conference will resume the story of one of the most significant experiences of Professor Viggiani, the project for the stabilization of the Tower of Pisa, in which he began to take an interest since '63.
The importance of an interdisciplinary approach and the ability to bring together skills from different worlds in the conservation of cultural heritage has found substance in the collaboration between engineer and restorer, an expression of common language and culture and a balanced interdisciplinary approach.
The stabilization of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of the most famous monuments in the world, is paradigmatic testimony to this.
