Yesterday morning, the military personnel of the Carabinieri Station of San Giuseppe Vesuviano and Ottaviano and the officers of the Police Station of San Giuseppe Vesuviano intervened in Via San Leonardo in San Giuseppe Vesuviano following the report of a robbery in a jewelry store.
The operators, arriving on site, entered the business and stopped four people, finding them in possession of two bags containing numerous jewels, watches and gold ornaments and 245 euros; furthermore, outside the jewelry store, they found a motorcycle used by one of the four to which the license plate of another scooter had been affixed.
The operators ascertained that, shortly before, a woman, pretending to be interested in purchasing a jewel, had distracted an employee while the accomplices, having entered the shop, had first stolen some precious items from the displays and then ordered the shop assistant to open the cash register to empty its contents.
SDP, 44 years old from Scafati, DT, 47 years old, AS, 54 years old, both from Scalea, all with previous police records, and AS, 55 years old, also from Scalea, were arrested for attempted robbery: furthermore, the 47-year-old and the 54-year-old, subject to the obligation to reside in the municipality of Scalea, were also reported for violating the obligations inherent to the measure to which they are subjected.
Finally, the goods were returned to the owner of the business while the scooter was seized.
