Thefts in the historic center of Naples are growing exponentially: latest robbery, at night, at the Carbone pastry shop.
It is not only the tourist flow that characterizes the historic center of Naples. There is the criminal and delinquent one that is bringing entrepreneurs and shopkeepers to their knees.
On the night between July 18 and 19, a man, disguised with a cap and surgical mask, entered, after forcing the shutter, the Carbone pastry shop in via dell'Anticaglia where he tampered with the cash register to steal the takings, as can be seen in the closed circuit images.
“The Police Commissioner, Prefect and Minister of the Interior must work together to study an intervention plan that will stop the wave of crime that has hit Naples and that is particularly affecting the historic center, which especially at nightfall becomes a no man's land. The video surveillance network needs to be strengthened and a greater presence of agents on the territory.
The excessive thefts and robberies that are being recorded are, after the covid emergency and together with the current economic crisis, nullifying the benefits brought by the growth of tourism. Now we need to intervene with determination.” - thus commented the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
