Naples, the historic stairways of Via Tasso damaged and vandalized. Covered in graffiti.
In Naples, not even history and ancient beauties are immune from incivility and degradation. Thus, in via Tasso, the monumental stairways have been damaged and covered in graffiti.
“This balustrade stood for 150 years. Then it bothered someone. And so it was demolished…”– says a citizen who turned to the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
In addition to the detached stones, several murals and graffiti cover the parapet overlooking the belvedere.
"We reported the issue to the municipal offices asking for restoration interventions. It is clear that too many people do not love their city and do not respect its history. These people must be fought and punished and the administration must defend at all costs the monuments and sites of interest from incivility and vandalism before the history of our city is buried by degradation",. Borrelli's words.
