Summer Trame: the Tram summer continues at Maschio Angioino, from 9 to 13 August a journey to tell the city through theatre and music
After the success of “Storie al Verde” – five traveling shows in the most suggestive gardens of Naples – the summer of the TRAM theater continues in the courtyard of the Maschio Angioino.
The mini-review of prose and music that will accompany the evenings of Neapolitans and tourists from 9 to 13 August will take place in collaboration with the Municipality of Naples.
Four shows that tell the story of the city, art, literature, music: the TRAM confirms itself as a small cultural stronghold, bringing Giacomo Leopardi and Federico Garcia Lorca, the history of Naples and ancient music to the stage. It starts on Tuesday August 9th with Leopardi's Moral Operettas directed by Mirko Di Martino. A show that combines the classic with the contemporary, humor with existential reflection, thanks to the extraordinary performance of the two actors Nello Provenzano and Antonio D'Avino.
We continue on August 10th with an exciting journey into the stories of Naples: 'A puteca de 'e leggende napulitane directed by Diego Sommaripa, also on stage, together with Carlo Caracciolo, Vittorio Passaro, Diletta Acanfora, Laura Pagliara, Christian Chiummariello: the most beautiful legends of the city will come back to life in one of the places that inspired them. Thursday August 11th it will be the turn of a masterpiece of the theater: Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca, directed by Gianmarco Cesario.
The cast, composed of Pietro Juliano, Guido Di Geronimo, Leonardo Di Costanzo, Germana Di Marino, will give life to a current tragedy, a reflection on machismo and patriarchy set in a story of violence and crime. Finally, the August 13th the review will close with the voices and sounds of the South: Indifferentemente, a suggestive and intense concert with Laura Cuomo, Daniela Dentato, Francesco Luongo and Angelo Plaitano. From the villanella to the tammurriata, from the classical melody to the song of the nineteenth century: an emotional and poetic journey through the great music of Naples.
All shows will start at 21.30:XNUMX p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.teatrotram.it.

MORAL OPERETTE
by Giacomo Leopardi
directed by Mirko Di Martino
with Antonio D'Avino and Nello Provenzano
The show brings to the stage the “Operette morali” by Giacomo Leopardi, his literary masterpiece, one of the highest peaks of universal literature. The original text is composed of 24 prose pieces, mostly dialogues. We have chosen ten of them. It was a difficult selection, inevitably partial, but conducted on the basis of the main themes: the desire for happiness, pain, death, the relationship of man with other men and with the universe. On stage only two actors play all the characters, two figures of men who have arrived at the end of time, when everything is consumed, when illusions have disappeared and there is no more room for action, but only for representation.

'A PUTECA DE' AND NAPULITAN LEGENDS
texts by Diego Sommaripa, Tommaso Vitiello, Noemi Giulia Fabiano, Silvio Fornacetti, Gennaro Esposito, Vittorio Passaro
with Vittorio Passaro, Diletta Acanfora, Laura Pagliara, Diego Sommaripa, Carlo Caracciolo, Christian Chiummariello
directed by Diego Sommaripa
production Resistenza Teatro
Lost Dreams Over time, forgotten stories, to be found and brought back to life. The stage is transformed into a craft workshop, where old objects are restored, sometimes abandoned, sometimes precious. But in the restoration process something is lost: it is not the original that comes back to life, but something new, a little old and a little modern. And that is what happens in this show: characters such as the Prince of Sansevero, Colapesce, Maria la Rossa the witch of Portalba, the Munaciello, Queen Giovanna, emerge from Naples' past and become creatures of the present. The protagonists of tradition come to life and form as in a circus, as in life, for a show that is all to be discovered, laughed at, dreamed of.

BLOOD WEDDING
by Federico García Lorca
with Pietro Juliano, Guido Di Geronimo, Leonardo Di Costanzo, Germana Di Marino
adaptation and direction by Gianmarco Cesario
dancer Adriana Napolitano
Federico Garcia Lorca left us on August 19, 1936, exactly 85 years ago, at the hands of Franco's guards. His dream of freedom was shattered under the axe of a dictator, a written destiny, like the one that the protagonists of "Bodas de Sangre", the first chapter of his trilogy on love, do not escape. Behind an apparent story of betrayal and honor killing, in fact, he tells the tragedy of the impossibility of Spanish society to escape rules that limited living freely.
The sexist and retrograde jokes of the Mother character, in which a woman is considered smart if she is able to “make bread and sew her own skirts” while remaining locked in the house, building “a wall in front of” herself, bring us back to the restrictive obligations typical of a dictatorship.
The instrument of revenge is the young Groom, who carries out the extreme act, realizing a destiny marked and continually evoked, like a tragic hero and thus also breaks the impossible desire for freedom of his Bride and Leonardo. A male chauvinist society that evokes the machismo of dictators, by my choice could only be interpreted by men, who speak as men, even if the characters are women, with the exception of the Bride, a black moth, who sees her feminine instinct mortified and finally shattered by the male hands of the world that surrounds her.

Who says Naples says music. Ancient melodies of stories of love and passion, of everyday life, echo in our hearts, the famous and most well-known Neapolitan songs of all time, those that we want to listen to to get excited and feel the fire of our roots. Indifferently. Voices and sounds of the south a journey through the sounds and rhythms of the Campania region, starting from Naples, traveling the roads that lead to Vesuvius, to the Terra di Lavoro, to the sounds of Irpinia, to the songs of Salerno and Cilento.
Starting from the tammurriata, still practiced today, experienced with dance and drums, revisited by the experiences of current folk. Discovering the first example of a song born from the people for the people with the intention of making fun of the musical mannerism in vogue in the 500th century, the villanella. The classic Neapolitan song, songs known throughout the world (two names above all, Era de Maggio, Io te vurria vasa'), and the great authors (Raffaele Viviani, Salvatore Di Giacomo, Libero Bovio).
The result is a show of classical and traditional music from our south, where the timbres of the voices and instruments, intertwined with the propulsive rhythms of the percussion, push us to distant destinations of sensory enjoyment.
