“Raids and punitive expeditions between one department and another; continuous attacks on personnel; circulation of narcotics and possession of rudimentary bladed weapons”.
Osapp, the autonomous union of the Penitentiary Police, denounces the "unmanageable" situation in which the prison finds itself Avellino.
National Councilor Emilio Fattorello and the union's general secretary Leo Beneduci are calling for immediate intervention by the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio and the head of the Dap Giovanni Russo, in light of the ongoing critical events that are occurring inside the prison, such as to warrant consideration of the possible use of the GOM, the elite unit of the Penitentiary Police.
Critical issues that, according to the union, in addition to the shortage of forty units in various roles, are aggravated by the lack of a commander of the Penitentiary Police who has not been selected for six months and that the three management officials who should take his place "since January 23 have simultaneously been absent for justified reason".
A situation, the union denounces, that could have unpredictable and serious consequences on the safety of the structure.
