Naples, no to replanting domestic pines in Posillipo

Today's meeting of the Technical Table for the redevelopment of urban greenery in the Municipality of Naples focused on the issues related to the redevelopment of the road axes of the Posillipo hill affected, in recent years, by the collapse and felling of numerous pine trees.

The main topic was the discussion on a botanical, agronomic, entomological and landscape focus centered on the current state of the existing pine trees and the parasitic attacks to which they are subject.

The focus group has highlighted the recommendation, on a scientific basis, not to replant domestic pines on the project site; therefore, the information collected will be essential for the continuation of the project activities. The table, coordinated by the Councilor for Health and Green and the Director of the City Green Service, includes the architect Anna Migliaccio representing the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Municipality of Naples, the lieutenant with special charge Giuseppe Mansueto for the Regional Carabinieri Forestry Command of Campania, and Professor Paolo Caputo for the Royal Botanical Garden of Naples.

And again Professor Riccardo Motti for the Department of Agriculture of the University of Naples Federico II, Professors Vincenzo Gioffrè and Luca Boursier for the Department of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II, Doctor Giuseppe Ceparano and Doctor Vincenzo Borrelli for the Order of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the province of Naples, Professors Emma Bondonno and Leonardo di Mauro for the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists of the province of Naples.

And finally, doctors Fernando Salemme, Mario Pedron, Antimo Petito, Domenico De Luca and Gennaro Pisciotta for the Interprovincial College of Agricultural Technicians and Graduate Agricultural Technicians of Naples and Caserta, the councilors for Infrastructure, Mobility and Civil Protection, Urban Planning and the Environment and the Sea and the managers of the Roads and Large Technological Networks Service of the General Urban Planning and Common Goods Service and of the Environmental Controls and PAES Implementation Service of the Municipality of Naples.
