“Punti di Svista” the novel written by Antonio Sepe and Stefania Gimmelli meets Salerno through the event organized by Scena Teatro in the books section, Monday 27 February at 18.00:XNUMX at the Auditorium of the Social Center of Salerno- Pastena in via Cantarella. An event that will see the writer, Sepe, interact, through the moderation of the journalist Erminia Pellecchia, with the boys of the Theater Academy directed by Antonello De Rosa.
Antonio Sepe, a graduate in sociology, passionate about pop-vintage culture, is without a shadow one of the major exponents of comics, of which he has always been a cultural devourer. He wrote his first short story in 2017 in the volume “L' Altalena”, arriving in the world of comics as co-creator of the project “Timed” for Shockdom and Noise Press. He was awarded the title of editor on the volume “The Steams Chronicles” released in Lucca 2017. His debut as a screenwriter is Chronicles Capitan Napoli.
“Punti di Svista” is her debut novel, published by the publishing house “LFA Publisher”, it collects the thoughts and emotions – the personal and existential discomforts of the protagonists, Luca and Sofia, a couple who, not having the courage to say things out loud, give life to univocal conversations of concrete reflections. A novel written by the same minds with Stefania Gimmelli, a sort of personal diary that reveals the relationship of the couple now in crisis.
The plot
Sofia feels trapped in her relationship with Luca, who after two years of living together seems like a different person to her. After all, she doesn't like changes very much, especially when it comes to making them happen, and for this reason she continues to wallow in her own dissatisfaction; Luca, in turn, doesn't want a confrontation and, in fact, is so intolerant of other people's expectations that he isolates himself while desperately trying to understand if it makes sense to take a new path, tormenting himself over the consequences and taking refuge as much as possible in his nerdy passions with a nostalgic flavor.
The protagonists of “Punti di Svista” are not kids struggling with their first loves or their first important decisions, but adults who are unhappy with their relationship with the world around them, with others but above all with themselves. A condition that many of those born in the 80s and 90s share, in the midst of that phase in which society expects them to have succeeded in “building a life”, a goal today mostly seen as a set of sacrifices with an ephemeral purpose.
The emptiness of the relationship they carry on and the daily life without stimuli weigh on the conscience of the couple, who fear loneliness above all else. To avoid it, often there is nothing else to do but tell lies, as can also be understood from the emblematic phrase taken from the book: "We lie, we know it. It is our tacit agreement".
