The exhibition project was created in partnership with the Museo Nacional del Prado, where a first version of the exhibition was inaugurated on October 18, 2022 with the title “Otro Renacimiento. The press conference is scheduled for 11:400 in the Salone delle Feste. Introductory greeting by the general director of the Museum and Royal Wood of Capodimonte, Sylvain Bellenger. Speakers will include: the director of the Museo Nacional del Prado, Miguel Falomir Faus, the curators of the exhibition, the Ambassador of Spain to Italy, Miguel Fernández-Palacios, the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano. Thanks to this important collaboration, the Madonna del pesce by Raphael will return to Naples for the first time in XNUMX years.
The exhibition offers a wide range of works by some of the main Spanish artists active in Naples in those years, such as Pedro Fernández, Bartolomé Ordóñez, Diego de Siloe, Pedro Machuca, Alonso Berruguete. The main difference between the exhibition in Naples and the one in Madrid is the strong connection with the territory: many of the works by the artists of the period are present in the city's churches, in particular in San Giovanni a Carbonara, San Domenico Maggiore and San Giacomo degli Spagnoli, a symbol of the political and cultural presence of Spain in Naples, which is precisely the subject of the exhibition.
The exhibition is organized in partnership with the Museo Nacional Prado in Madrid, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Italy and the Italian Embassy in Madrid, with the Ministry of the Interior-Fec Fondo Edifici di Culto and the Curia of Naples, and is financed thanks to the Poc Capodimonte project.
The art routes of the Campania Region enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Naples, has Gesac as its main sponsor and was created thanks to the support of the association Amici di Capodimonte ets.
