In the Spanish Quarters, an Anm traffic warden was stabbed in the left leg. The attacker was a motorist who had been fined, after some car checks, the day before in via Ponte di Tappia.
On that very occasion the individual had threatened the public employee that he would attack him if the checks continued: "I'll break your legs and your head if you continue the checks on my car and on me."
The traffic warden was reached by the same person, between via Toledo and the Spanish Quarters from whom he first received a slap and then several stab wounds to his left leg, losing a lot of blood. He was helped by some bystanders and taken to the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital for treatment before being discharged. For him, a 10-day prognosis.
The officers of the Montecalvario Police Station are investigating the facts, and are on the trail of the person responsible for the latest attack.
“First of all, we express our solidarity with the attacked auxiliary. We hope that the attacker can be identified and convicted as soon as possible- “– declares the deputy of the Green-Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli- “It is time, however, to put things back in place. It is not possible that those who do their job, in this case those who work to enforce the highway code, must live in a constant state of apprehension and operate with a certain amount of anxiety, while those who do not respect the rules, and want to assert their reasons with violence, almost always get away with it or, in any case, get away with very little. The regulations must be changed.”
