Hundreds of rats have been invading for months now Napoli the buildings adjacent to a supermarket which, placed under seizure after a fire that partially destroyed it, has become the kingdom of rats who find abundant food on the shelves still full of food.
The many families of residents who have announced a flash mob protest for next Saturday to demand immediate clean-up intervention are suffering the consequences. In the videos shown by residents, dozens of rats can be seen entering and exiting the ruins of the supermarket a few meters from doors and balconies that residents are forced to keep barred to prevent rats from entering their homes.
“We are dealing with a massive infestation of rats – reads a note from the committee established in the aftermath of the fire last December – and we cannot wait for the judiciary to intervene on the area placed under seizure and on Saturday we will meet all the people in solidarity with our protest on Saturday 27th at 10 am in Via Lahalle to ask to remove the seals to allow the supermarket to be emptied and carry out the rodent control operations”.
