“Some citizens have sent me photographs showing two car batteries, a tire and even a chair thrown into the waters of Marechiaro.
A spectacle that is nothing short of degrading, the work of some criminal who thought it best to dump his waste in the water instead of depositing it in a landfill. A dangerous bad habit that demonstrates the need to intensify controls for the protection of the environment.
The sea is a resource of inestimable value for our city and we cannot allow this to happen, environmental protection must be a priority.
I ask that surveillance cameras be installed in order to prevent such nonsense and catch the dirty people in the act. Only with a serious campaign of prevention and repression will we be able to defend our sea”.
