Over the past two months, the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples has carried out checks on second homes and properties intended for rental on the islands of the gulf.
The interventions have allowed us to ascertain undeclared income, by the lessors, for over 139 thousand euros of undeclared rents. Ischia, in the first days of August, over 40 homes used for short-term rentals were checked and seven people were reported for failure to communicate with public safety authorities between Ischia and Forio.
In the Municipality of Forio, investigations into fictitious residences continued, allowing the identification of 50 families falsely residing on the island where they owned holiday homes, with an IMU evasion on second homes for a total amount of 220 thousand euros.
The tenancy of Capri Instead, it conducted inspections of a real estate brokerage firm that deals with rentals and sales of luxury properties on the blue island: total tax evasion emerged in the absence of the required annual tax declarations since 2019.
Again in Ischia, checks were carried out on 20 individuals carrying out taxi transport activities, contesting fines, totalling 4 thousand euros, for failure to display predetermined rates, in violation of municipal ordinances, and the absence of the device for electronic payments.
As part of the checks on boat rental and leasing activities, nine interventions were carried out in Capri against companies that used pleasure craft for the maritime and coastal transport of passengers for a fee, with the contestation of pecuniary sanctions, from a minimum of 27.610 euros to a maximum of 110.170 euros.
The financial police also carried out checks on the regulation of fuel prices for consumers: in Ischia, four distributors did not regularly display prices, resulting in the contestation of the expected administrative sanctions and, in one case, the administrative seizure of two dispensers because they did not supply the correct quantity of fuel.
Finally, with the help of dog units, anti-drug checks were carried out, especially in the areas of disembarkation/boarding of holidaymakers, bathing areas and those intended for events, shows and demonstrations in tourist squares. Overall, over 230 grams of narcotics were seized, with the reporting to the competent authorities of 75 subjects, often just over the age of majority or, in some cases, minors.
