As part of the “Officine Rione Terra” events currently scheduled at the Rione Terra in Pozzuoli, on Friday 13 October at 18:00 pm in the former Council Chamber of Palazzo Migliaresi, the series of studies “people, cultures and cuisine” will be presented, as well as the book “Isola d'Ischia” edited by Anna Russolillo, Gianni Ambrosino and Sonia Gervasio, the fifth volume of the series dedicated to the “green island”, the eldest of the sisters of the Phlegraean Gulf, the undisputed capital of spas and wellness.
The book collects unpublished essays by scholars, enthusiasts of ancient traditions, food artists who tell stories related to cooking, considered the main protagonist of world culture. The book aims to summarize the experiences of scientific research, tastes and traditions on the island of Ischia, retracing from ancient times to the present day the attention that men and women have dedicated to food.
It tells of the volcanic soul of the island and its resources, of the first agricultural crops, of the iconic plants, of the biodiversity, of the green tuff houses, of the tuna fisheries, of the spas, of the Cappuccinelle and the Friars Minor, of the treaties and literature, of the festivals and anniversaries, of nutraceuticals, of the last shepherd and of the bees and of the passion to safeguard the territory. But also of skilled Chefs, of precious recipes and wines, the princes of taste.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Pozzuoli – Department of Tourism and Culture, Art Garage, “Officine Rione Terra”, Villaggio Letterario and New Media – Edizioni Flegree, will see among the speakers:
