Deputy Attorney General Luigi Musto asked the judges of the first section of the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Naples to confirm the life sentence for Pinotto Iacomino in relation to the murder of his ex-partner Ornella Pinto.
The woman, a 40-year-old teacher, was stabbed to death on March 3, 2021: the man entered Ornella's house thanks to the keys he still had in his possession; he surprised Ornella in her sleep and stabbed her 12 times.
The couple's three-year-old son witnessed the murder. Iacomino was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first instance in May 2022, today the prosecutor Musto asked for confirmation of that verdict which also took into account the aggravating circumstances of premeditation, cruelty and cohabitation between victim and murderer.
The civil party, represented by lawyers Mino Capasso, Marcello Severino, Loredana Gemelli and Celeste Giliberti, also supported the conclusions of the prosecution.
