In the dioceses of Brescia there is a priest who will hardly go unnoticed. His name is Giuseppe Fusari, also known as the "bodybuilder priest", and he is part of an increasingly large circle of Dons who, to bring (especially) the youngest closer to religion, have opened profiles on social media to have a 'less distant' communication.
On his LinkedIn profile he explains that he has also been a teacher at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore for 25 years. Fusari is very active on Instagram, where he has just under 60 thousand followers.
In the published contents, the priest - as reported by Il FattoQuotidiano - proposes spiritual reflections, celebratory functions and a bit of art. Yes, because the preacher, among other things, is also an art historian, a writer but, above all, a bodybuilder.
For the public, therefore, “getting closer” to Don Giuseppe is easier given the variety of content he offers. In the recorded videos, the teacher often wears tight shirts. Muscles and tattoos are not reasons to hide, and indeed, they are often shown off by the bodybuilder.
“The words of Jesus tell us something profound, that he also came to bring God to heal hearts, that is, the person in his depths,” said Fusari in his reflection on the Gospel of Sunday, February 4.
