In the Neapolitan neighborhood of Chiaiano, a 17-year-old Andrea Mellone, resident of Marano, lost his life following a serious road accident that occurred yesterday evening.
According to initial investigations conducted by the accident section of the Naples local police, the young man was riding his scooter along Via dei Ciliegi when he lost control and violently hit a street lamp.
Although he was promptly rescued and transported to the “Cardarelli” hospital, unfortunately he lost his life due to the serious injuries sustained in the impact. Currently, the local police are investigating to understand the exact dynamics of the accident and establish whether there were motorists involved who could have caused the young man's scooter to skid.
The news of the death of the young Andrea has shocked the city of Marano where his father Gennaro is very well known. On social media, many remember the young man and cry for his young life cut short.
