Gennaro Acampora, group leader for the Democratic Party in the city council of Naples, has announced a signature collection to ask for the resignation of Eike Schmidt, current director of the Museum of Capodimonte.
The initiative includes a demonstration on Saturday 13 April, from 10am to 13pm, at the 'Porta Piccola' entrance to the Bosco di Capodimonte.
Acampora argues that Schmidt's resignation is necessary in order to have a successor worthy of Sylvain Bellenger, a director who loves his role and is competent, authoritative and independent.
The aim is to ensure the continuity of the important work of relaunching the park, the development of the museum potential and the valorization of the historical assets of the area.
Acampora's appeal is addressed to citizens, civil society and politics to actively participate in the signature collection and the demonstration. The aim is to defend the future of Capodimonte from choices dictated by electoral needs and to guarantee the continuity of the path started in recent years.
