The investigating judge of the court of Salerno revoked the house arrest for the entrepreneur Federico Palmieri, involved in an investigation into the alleged illegal trafficking of waste between Italy and Tunisia.
The judge found that there were no longer any serious indications of guilt against Palmieri, annulling the precautionary measures imposed on him.
The decision was made after Palmieri became a partner in a company involved in the investigation, stressing that up to a certain date there was no evidence of his involvement in the illegal activities.
Despite Palmieri's formal involvement in the company following the shipment of the incriminating container, the analyses conducted did not reveal any evidence against him.
In light of these considerations, the court of Salerno has decided to revoke Federico Palmieri's house arrest, reiterating that there is insufficient evidence to implicate him in the illegal waste trafficking activities with Tunisia.
