The success of Mare Fuori knows no bounds! The Italian series, which captivated audiences with its intense stories of teenagers incarcerated in a juvenile detention center, is getting a remake in Spain.
Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara will play the protagonist, Filippo “Chiattillo” De Gregorio . Guevara, already known for his role in Skam Spain and the film Is It My Fault? (2023) on Prime Video, has won over audiences with his talent and charisma. He will replace Nicolas Maupas , who plays the character in the original Italian version.
The project, a collaboration between Atresmedia TV and Beta Fiction Spain, will consist of eight episodes and focus on Chiattillo. Filming will begin soon, and the series will be available on the Atresplayer Premium streaming platform.
A global success
The Spanish remake of Mare Fuori joins the one already announced for the United States, demonstrating the Italian series' immense international success. The fifth season, arriving in Italy, is eagerly awaited by fans who can't wait to discover the new adventures of Carmine, Filippo, Edoardo, and company.
In addition to Guevara, the cast of the Spanish remake of Mare Fuori will include other talented actors, whose names will be announced soon. The film will be directed by Carlos Marqués-Marcet , who also directed several episodes of the original Italian series.
The enthusiasm of the producers
“We're thrilled to bring Mare Fuori to Spain ,” said Montse García, director of fiction at Atresmedia TV. “We're confident this story will be a huge success in our country too.”
García called Gabriel Guevara "one of the young Spanish actors with the greatest potential." "We've already worked with him on another Actorsplayer series, Red Flags, and now he'll be starring in Mar Afuera," he said. "He represents a great challenge because he'll bring to life a very complex character, Álvaro, who is crucial to this story."
The Spanish remake of Mare Fuori has already sparked excitement among audiences and the media. We just have to wait and see how Guevara will play the role of Chiattillo and how the story will be adapted for Spanish audiences.
