The Carabinieri of the Lauro Station, in the province of Avellino, reported at liberty to the Avellino Public Prosecutor's Office a 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, believed to be responsible for computer fraud.
A local entrepreneur filed a complaint with the Carabinieri because she noticed that some transfers made by customers for services rendered had not been credited to her current account.
The Carabinieri investigations revealed that the two suspects, of Romanian origin and resident in the province of Livorno, had managed to gain access to the company's computer system.
Once inside, they replaced the company's IBAN registered in the electronic invoicing system with one traceable to their current account. In this way, the customers' transfers ended up in the account of the two young men, rather than that of the company.
Thanks to the intervention of the Carabinieri, it was possible to recover over 10 thousand euros stolen from the company.
Further investigations are underway to identify any accomplices of the two youths and to ascertain whether they have committed other similar crimes.
