The Arezzo Prosecutor's Office has closed its investigations into seven Roma fans involved in the brawl on January 8, 2023 on the A1, near the Badia al Pino service station.
Public prosecutors Marco Dioni and Chiara Pistolesi charged the fans with brawling, throwing dangerous objects and possession of improper weapons, while the charge of attempting to undermine transport safety was dismissed.
The clashes involved two groups of fans of the Napoli and Roma, headed respectively to Genoa for Sampdoria-Napoli and to Milan for Milan-Roma.
According to police investigators, the two factions clashed for several minutes, throwing objects and setting off firecrackers and smoke bombs, causing traffic disruption.
Traffic was blocked on both lanes, with queues of cars for nine kilometres in the northbound direction and repercussions also in the southbound direction.
The investigation was based on video surveillance images, which identified approximately thirty people involved.
