Three young people are missing after being swept away by the Natisone River flooding in Premariacco, in the province of Udine. The search has been ongoing since 13.30:XNUMX PM this morning, when the alarm was raised.
The three young men, who were on the riverbank, were caught in the sudden flood and swept away by the current. The rescue operation is involving firefighters, divers, helicopters, and specialized Alpine Rescue teams.
The search is concentrated along the river, also using aerial surveys. At the moment, there is still no trace of the missing.
The accident occurred due to heavy rains that hit the area in the last few hours, causing the river level to rise suddenly.
Updates:
- 15.30: Two technicians of the Alpine rescue they were loaded onto the Civil Protection helicopter for aerial inspections.
- 16.30: The availability of two additional Alpine Rescue technicians is required for possible recovery with the winch.
Hopes of finding the boys alive have sadly diminished as the hours have passed. Rescuers continue to do everything they can to locate them, but the river conditions and poor visibility make operations extremely difficult.
