The court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere has acquitted three insurance agency owners of charges of impersonation.
The prosecution argued that Antonio Fabozzi, Salvatore De Falco and Antonio Avenia had filled out numerous expense claim forms in the names of agency employees, simulating their signatures.
According to the prosecution, these collaborators had never actually provided service. The Public Prosecutor had requested the sentenced to one year in prison for the defendants.
However, judge Valerio Riello accepted the arguments of defense attorney Luca Tornatora and acquitted the defendants with the formula “the fact does not exist”.
The investigation was launched following a complaint filed by some of the alleged victims. These people, all agency collaborators, officially unemployed and beneficiaries of income support and other aid, had denied having signed the forms liquidation.
The investigation was born from a complaint filed by the agency's collaborators
It is assumed that the lawsuit was filed in an attempt to avoid losing benefits and having to pay taxes on the amounts paid out by the insurance company. However, none of the plaintiffs filed a civil action, thus losing the possibility of seeking compensation for damages.
