Yesterday afternoon a flash mob took place off Villa Rosbery, Naples, to remember Cristina Frazzica, the girl who was hit and killed by a large motorboat while sailing with her KAYAK near the coast.
About 150 people gathered with sups and kayaks in a circle, symbol of eternity, unity and equality, observing the silence and finally splashing the sea water towards the sky representing Cristina's union with the water element, all participants are invited to bring a flower.
Also present were municipal councilor Benedetta Sciannimanica and municipal councilor Lorenzo Pascucci.
Although it was a demonstration against wild navigation, unfortunately during the event a dinghy sped by at full speed close to the coast at too close a distance.
Thanks to the shouts of those present, who attracted attention, he was stopped by the Coast Guard.
“A beautiful gesture ruined by yet another scoundrel of whom the sea, as well as the streets, is now full. Absence of rules and controls, crazy speed, boats and canoes rented without regulation by unscrupulous people who only think about filling their pockets.
We need widespread checks in the sector and greater attention from the Coast Guard. The Cristina tragedy must at least turn on a big spotlight on the phenomenon and stop the deregulation" - declared the deputy of the Green-Left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
