San Gennaro Vesuviano, 12 illegal workers discovered

Naples. Undeclared workers, stolen vehicles seized, doses of drugs, fines and almost 500 people identified.

This is the result of a series of checks carried out in recent days by the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Naples, also in light of the indications provided by the Prefect of Naples - Dr. Michele Di Bari.

Controls also carried out by the needs expressed by the Mayors during recent Provincial Committees for Public Order and Security, have strengthened the economic control device of the territory in the city, in the Scampia area, and in the Municipalities of San Gennaro Vesuviano and Ercolano.

In particular, in Scampia, 54 patrols of the Naples Emergency Response Group, in addition to the public order and surveillance services at the Vele coordinated by the Police Headquarters, checked a total of over 70 vehicles and 170 individuals, seized some doses of narcotic substances with the consequent reporting of 3 individuals to the Prefect.

A young man was stopped while riding a stolen motorcycle and in possession of a 16-centimeter switchblade, which was seized and reported for resisting a public official, threats and receiving stolen goods.

In San Gennaro Vesuviano, 16 patrols of the Ottaviano Company, with the support of the Naples Emergency Response Group and a canine unit, checked over 50 vehicles and 70 subjects, issuing several reports of violations of the Highway Code and proceeding with the administrative seizure of a vehicle, seizing some doses of narcotic substances, with the consequent reporting of 2 subjects to the Prefecture.

Unsafe stationery items seized

Furthermore, 12 “illegal” workers were identified in some commercial establishments in the centre and 3 employers were reported to the Territorial Labour Inspectorate, also for the imposition of a maxi-fine, equal to an amount of up to 46.800 euros for each irregular worker.

Also in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, hundreds of unsafe stationery items were seized, with the owner of a sole proprietorship reporting them to the Chamber of Commerce.

220 people identified in Ercolano

In Ercolano, 21 patrols of the Portici Company, with the support of their “green berets” colleagues and the dog unit, have intensified checks along the main roads, including via IV Novembre, Piazza Pugliano, Corso Resina, as well as at the “Ercolano Scavi” railway station and the communication routes with the neighboring urban centers of Portici and Torre del Greco. During the operations, over 220 individuals and 100 vehicles were checked.
