Murder of Genny Remondino in Pianura: the murderer arrested

The State Police arrested a minor accused of killing Gennaro Ramondino on the night of August 31. The victim's body was found charred in a field in the Pianura neighborhood.

The investigations, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Naples, have reconstructed the dynamics of the murder.

The crime is believed to have taken place in a basement on Via Comunale Napoli, a place commonly used by drug dealers in the area.

The minor, already detained for other crimes, allegedly shot the victim at point-blank range, killing her instantly. Together with some accomplices, he then hid the body in a field, setting it on fire and trying to erase all traces of the crime.

The motive for the murder appears to be linked to disputes over drug dealing and the division of illicit proceeds.

An adult has already been arrested in recent weeks on charges of helping hide the body and the cars used in the crime.

Genny Remondino's body set on fire

The body of Genny Ramondino he had been found among the undergrowth in via Torre Poerio, on the outskirts of the Neapolitan neighbourhood of Pianura, during an intervention by the Fire Brigade for a fire: after putting out the flames, the firefighters had found the body.

It later emerged that the boy, a resident of Fuorigrotta, had been killed by gunshots.

The young man was considered close to the “new paranza dei bambini” of Pianura, the gang that, taking advantage of the arrests that had hit the other clans, had gained ground especially in drug trafficking; after the arrest of Santagata, however, the group would have disjointed and several members would have relocated, approaching the clans of the territory.

Four suspects in boy's murder

In recent weeks, the investigations of the Flying Squad of the Naples Police Headquarters had focused on four people, believed to be involved, in various capacities, in the murder. Among these there are the owners of the house where the boy was killed.

The 16-year-old had admitted the charges in connection with the shooting at the offender's home and had been transferred to a Juvenile Detention Center, but had availed himself of the right to remain silent in relation to the murder of the XNUMX-year-old.
