Giffoni Film Festival, incorrect transport costs: invitation to deduct for Gubitosi and 3 others

Giffoni Film Festival: la Guardia di Finanza contesta 468mila euro di spese non conformi alle certificazioni presentate e notifica un invito a dedurre al presidente pro tempore (ed in proprio), al direttore generale e ad altri due soggetti, ritenuti responsabili di un tax damage.

La notifica è stata effettuata stamane dai militari del Nucleo di Polizia Economico-Finanziaria della Guardia di Finanza di Napoli su delega della Procura Regionale per la Campania della Court of Auditors. I quattro sono ritenuti responsabili di un danno erariale quantificato in 468.908 euro.

The investigations revealed an improper use of public funding of EU origin, managed by the Campania Region, intended for the transport service of guests and jurors during the editions of the film festival from 2016 to 2022. This service was certified as regularly performed, but the investigations showed that these certifications were not compliant.

The transport service, in the years in question, was entrusted to the same company which, at the time, did not have an adequate fleet of vehicles nor the necessary personnel to manage the contracted service. In some editions, the service was guaranteed by cars provided free of charge by the sponsors, not by the contractor, which limited itself to providing the drivers.

 Transport costs not compliant with the documentation presented

Furthermore, expenses were incurred for the escort service with buses that, in reality, never performed the service because they were not available to the company in charge, being registered to other parties or not suitable for their type.

The alleged perpetrators now have the opportunity to examine all the evidence presented, file their statements and documents, or request to be heard by the proceeding Audit Judicial Authority.
