Following the resounding success of previous years, the 21st edition of the Angri City Award kicks off with its eagerly awaited MasterClass series. The annual event, which officially inaugurates the final phase of the 2024 edition, is scheduled for Friday, November 8th at the La Mura High School in Angri.

High school students will have the opportunity to take part in a nativity scene art class led by renowned Maestro Alfonso Pepe, who will distinguish himself with a combination of theoretical and practical teaching.

The cultural importance of Neapolitan nativity scene art

Neapolitan and Campanian nativity scene art represents an important cultural tradition that has transcended religious boundaries, becoming a symbol of Campanian culture worldwide. Maestro Alfonso Pepe, an authority in this field, has exhibited his works in prestigious venues such as St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, garnering both national and international recognition. His creations have been personally presented to prominent figures, including the Pope, several prime ministers, and Presidents Mattarella and Napolitano.

Collaboration between institutions for local success

The MasterClass is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the National Institute of Art, Culture, and Entertainment, which organizes the Angri City Award, and the Don Carlo La Mura High School, one of the city's top schools. Led by the new management team led by Professor Rossella Tedesco, this partnership offers students unique experiences and extracurricular opportunities, significantly contributing to the cultural and educational development of the area.
