ARZANO – The eviction and demolition of the illegal residence of the boss Giovanni Di Annicella, a leading member of the Moccia clan and currently serving a life sentence, is underway. The house, a residence of about 180 square meters occupied by Di Annicella's family since 2014, had already been acquired by the municipal property in 2016, two years after the dissolution of the Municipality due to Camorra infiltration. However, until today the building had remained occupied.
The operation is conducted by the agents of the Frattamaggiore Police Station, by Carabinieri of the local Tenenza and the Local Police Command of Arzano, supported by firefighters and health services. Meanwhile, the District Anti-Mafia Directorate is investigating how the building remained at the disposal of the boss's family despite the confiscation measures and the previous dissolution of the municipal administration.
This intervention was prompted by the Environment and Heritage Office of the Municipality and by repeated journalistic and media reports.association anti-mafia Antonino Caponnetto, who in the past had already sent reports to the Attorney Nicola Gratteri on possible further critical issues related to the management of public affairs in arzano. In the coming months, the demolition of another illegal residence linked to the Amato-Pagano clan, located in via Zanardelli, is also planned.
