An exceptional and significant artistic moment for the sculptor and painter Domenico Sepe who, after having obtained the "Recognition of Excellence" from the Parliamentary Intergroup-Southern Development at the Chamber of Deputies, had just enough time to arrive in Naples to reach the Nunziatella Military School where he was the protagonist, as author, of the official presentation of the Statue of the Student and the 2025 Calendar.
Two new important consecrations, therefore, for the maestro Sepe who continues to string together one success after another with the creation of works always linked to great personalities or historical institutions. Going in order, to Rome, Domenico Sepe, for his creativity and his talent capable of expressing through art the soul of Naples and its traditions, has obtained the significant Award of Excellence from the Parliamentary Intergroup.
The same one that, with the signature from Montecitorio of the president and honorable Alessandro Caramiello, reserved the following motivation for the sculptor "For his extraordinary contribution to the art and culture of the South. His works, symbol of creativity and master, reflect the soul of his land, uniting tradition and innovation".
Again, speaking of the Nunziatella, organized by the National Association of Former Students, the event linked to the presentation of Sepe's works, saw among the protagonists the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, the engineer Fulvio Campagnuolo, president of the Former Students Association and the commander of the Nunziatella Military School, Colonel Alberto Valent.
Thus, in front of a large audience, including many civil and military authorities such as the inter-regional commander of the Carabinieri "Ogaden" of Naples, the general of the army corps Marco Minicucci (former student of the Nunziatella), the maestro Sepe spoke about his work depicting the student (the first and only life-size bronze sculpture designed by the former student Francesco Pascotto and dedicated to the Nunziatella as a historic military school) and the special edition of the 2025 calendar that celebrates the tradition and educational excellence of one of the most prestigious military institutions in Italy.
A Calendar that, in addition to marking the days of the year, aims to open the most secret heart of Nunziatella to the city. From the cover, which links the Statue to the multi-decorated Tricolor, to the internal pages ready to reveal some of the most iconic environments of the School, until now known only to Students and Ex-Students.
“Bronze sculptures – explained the artist Domenico Sepe – have two fundamental elements: the material, bronze, which the Greeks defined as eternal, but also an empty part in which the artist expresses the spiritual part. The calendar wants to be an iconographic story of the key places of the school. It transmits the strong bond of the Nunziatella with the city of Naples. In the same way, the sculpture also proposes this bond as a story of a historical and, at the same time, contemporary image of our city”.
