The deputy prosecutor of Milan, Letizia Mannella, and the prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo have requested a life sentence for Alexander Impagnetiello.
The young man is accused before the Assize Court for the murder of his girlfriend Julia Tramontano, 29 years old and seven months pregnant, killed with 37 stab wounds on May 27, 2023 in senago, in the province of Milan. The
'former bartender is accused of voluntary homicide aggravated by premeditation, cruelty, futile motives and cohabitation with the victim. He also faces charges of non-consensual termination of pregnancy and concealment of a corpse.
During the hearing, the prosecution's closing argument was presented by prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo and prosecutor Letizia Mannella, who spoke for about two and a half hours. The prosecutor's office stressed that "there is no doubt about premeditation."
“It is difficult to accept this truth, that even apparently normal men can commit such heinous crimes against the people they claim to love. We must all have the courage to accept this truth and not be afraid to see what human beings are capable of doing. It is not madness, it is cruelty,” said prosecutor Menegazzo in her final speech.
In the trial against Alexander Impagnetiello, accused of the murder of Giulia Tramontano, the request for life imprisonment was reiterated. “This story has revealed to us the cruelty and manipulation. It was a trial that allowed us to glimpse the abyss of the banality of evil. It is scary, but today we and you must find the courage to face it,” he concluded.
