Naples. “My brother will always be what you will never be”: Miriam Maimone, sister of the young pizza chef Francesco Pio killed in Naples last March, responded harshly to the apologies of the alleged murderer.

During the last hearing, Francesco Pio Valda tried to justify himself, but Miriam did not accept his words. “They are false regrets,” he declared, underlining the many unanswered questions. The girl asked for justice and reiterated that the family will not give up.

Miriam's words are full of pain and anger: "Maybe the silence you have had up to now is better... because you know who you are and my brother will always remain what you will never be, not even in another life."

Speaking for the first time after the tragedy is Miriam Maimone, older sister of Francis Pio Maimone.  And in valda asks a series of questions that remain unanswered even though all this time has passed since the murder.

“Your fake sorrows or those of others are of no use”

“Why did he hide if he didn't kill my brother? Why didn't he answer the police after he was captured? Why did the grandmother say on the phone with the older brother that he had messed up? I await with pain for the Law to do its duty”.

And then he concludes: “After 18 months, my family and I don’t need your fake sorrows or those of others. Keep fighting, at night, when you put your head on the pillow, with the monsters you carry inside you”. Finally, a thought for the little brother who is no longer here: “Pio you are life, you are hope and we will always carry your name in glory”.
