Naples. A burglary took place at the Ospedale del Mare during daylight hours, drawing attention to the issue of security in hospitals. The news was reported by the president of the National Association of Special Security Guards, Giuseppe Alviti, who has long supported the need for an Army presence within healthcare facilities.
“It is absurd that an episode like this occurs, in broad daylight, in a center like the Ospedale del Mare,” Alviti said. According to reports, doctors and nurses, after working for hours to save human lives, found themselves faced with vandalized lockers and robbed of all goods, with money and even clothing stolen.
The request for increased security in hospitals, proposed by Alviti at a national level, has received support in some areas, such as Vibo Valentia, where significant results in terms of security have been achieved. “Those responsible must guarantee the maximum possible protection in a very short time,” concluded Alviti.

It's really shocking that something like this can happen in a hospital. Doctors and nurses work so hard to help people and then they have to deal with these safety issues that are really unacceptable.
