Due to thick fog that drastically reduced visibility, it was necessary to temporarily close the stretch of the A1 Milan-Naples motorway between Ferentino and Caianello in both directions during the night.
Currently, there is a 6 km long tailback, increasing at the mandatory exit of Caianello, in the direction of Rome.
Autostrade per l'Italia advises motorists coming from Naples and heading towards Rome to exit at Capua, continue along the TRAFFIC ordinary and re-enter the motorway at the Ferentino station.
For users travelling from Rome to Naples, after the mandatory exit at Ferentino, it is suggested to use ordinary roads and then re-join the motorway at Caianello station.
The situation is constantly monitored, and drivers are advised to pay maximum attention and follow the instructions of the staff on site.

I heard about this closure of the A1 motorway and I think it was a right decision given that the fog was very thick. But I hope that the waiting times are not too long for everyone.
