Caserta. An earthquake of magnitude 2.4 shook the area of Roccamonfina, in the province of Caserta, yesterday evening. The shock, which occurred at 22:40 p.m., had an epicenter 3 km southwest of Roccamonfina, with a depth of 7 km.
The geographic coordinates of the epicenter were detected at 41.2720 latitude and 13.9560 longitude.
Despite its relatively low magnitude, the earthquake was clearly felt in neighboring municipalities such as Sessa Aurunca, Conca della Campania, Galluccio, Marzano Appio, Tora e Piccilli, Carinola and Teano, extending to a large part of the province of Caserta.
The population in the areas affected by the earthquake amounts to approximately 51.627 inhabitants within a radius of 20 km from the epicenter, with Sessa Aurunca having over 21.000 residents. At the moment, no damage to people or structures has been reported.

It's strange how a low magnitude earthquake can be felt in so many municipalities. I hope that the population remains calm and that there was no damage to property or people after this natural event.
