Torre del Greco – A 24-year-old Moroccan citizen, illegally residing in Italy, was arrested yesterday morning by the State Police on charges of improper robbery, personal injury, violence and resisting a public official.
The man, already known to the police, was also reported for theft by snatching, carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence and for failure to comply with an expulsion order.
The dynamics of the facts
The agents of the police station Greek's tower they intervened in via Chiumera following a report of a burglary in a home. When they arrived on site, they found the man while he was attacking the owner of the apartment with kicks and punches. Blocked by the officers, he was found in possession of a cutter and a cell phone.
The double theft
The investigations revealed that, shortly before the attack, the man had been surprised by the owner of the apartment while he was loading construction tools taken from a cellar onto a wheelbarrow. In order to escape, he had attacked him. Furthermore, it was discovered that on the same morning he had snatched a person's cell phone near the Circumvesuviana station.
Arrest and expulsion
Taken to the police station, the man went berserk, kicking and punching the officers, until he was finally stopped. Arrest was inevitable. He is now in prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. Given his previous convictions and his irregular status on the national territory, expulsion proceedings have also been initiated.
